Ours is not new microwave and old enough to use simple electronics to control those features. With the age of computerized "everything", my guess is there is something in the "settings menu", like tv sets etc., where you can change most every "auto-set" from the factory.

 

Haven't read, per usual, any of the other posts in this thread as of yet. May be repeating what others may have already posted.
