Yes, I have a 5 and had freezing problems and couldn't access my photos for about 2 days. My photos also wouldn't transfer to my iPad. Both are working fine now.

@luvsbulldogs wrote:Thanks everyone for all your replies. I googled it and read that some are having troubles with the download and needing Apple ID. They are working on a fix. I do not have an Apple ID or use any ID as I always skip that. I am thinking that I will wait for a fix just to play it safe. I do not have WiFi so I have to use ITunes for all my updates and have no clue if I run into a problem that I do not know how to fix. I have had my phone about a year and am new to Apple and am new to all of this.
@luvsbulldogs you really should get yourself an appleID, for many reasons which I won't go into here. Apple store can help you or we can as well.

In the spirit of FULL CONFESSION, I did the update on my 6+ as soon as it came out, AND WOUND UP LOCKING MYSELF OUT OF MY PHONE.
It was TOTALLY MY FAULT, but talk about embarrassing!
I set up my Finger ID and 6 digit phone ID on Monday, with an old number sequence from my family history, knowing that the finger ID is not too stable. By Friday, my phone had forgotten my finger ID and I had forgotten my numerical ID.........
I DID REMEMBER that I had used either someone's birthdate or an old phone number or an old address, an ultimately I hit the right combo, but my message to all is BACK UP YOUR i DEVICES!!!!!!

@luvsbulldogs, If you're performing backups/syncs with iTunes (and if you've purchased any apps, music, etc., from Apple) you have an Apple ID -- that's what you use to sign in to accomplish those things. I do hope you've been doing backups on a regular basis. (NEVER do an update without first backing up the device.)
I agree, you should either get the help of Apple support if you have a nearby Apple Store, or by calling Apple Support -- or we can try to help here.
I installed iOS 9.3 on my iPhone 5 and iPad 3 (both are very old devices) as soon as it was released, and I've had no problems, by the way. I always update right away, but there's no reason everyone needs to do so -- the only real urgency comes when there are important security updates/fixes (or, down the road, if you wait a long time and start to experience glitches from using a very old version of iOS).

@GSPgirl, I'm sorry you had problems. For future reference, often (if you already tried the usual steps, such as a restart, or a reboot) if you'll sync the device with iTunes or iCloud (whatever you normally do for a backup) that will fix some of the glitches.

Your I Tunes Id and password are your Apple Id..just use that.

I do not have an ITunes ID or password because I do not use ITunes only to update our IPhones. I do back up our phones on there also because as I mentioned we do not have WiFi.
We do not want to have to use a password everytime I want to use our IPhone. I am hoping that with the new update that it will not make us have to take a password and then have to use it everytime we want to use our phones.

No, you don't have to set up a passcode to use your phone with the new update. I'm new to Apple myself (only got my devices a few weeks ago), and I updated my IPhone without a setting a passcode. But you have to pay attention when it asks you to set one. The option to not do so is "Not Now" or "Ask Me Later" or something like that. When I first got the phone I had the girl at the phone company set it up without a passcode and I watched how she did it.

I hope you are using the fingerprint security on your phone.

No, I'm not using anything right now. As I mentioned, I just got my devices recently and I'm still in the process of figuring out how to use them. Right now, nothing leaves my house. I do intend to use the fingerprint/code once I'm familiar with them.
