I loaded IOS 11 on one iPad, but so far I hate it. I'm trying to avoid putting it on my iPad Air2 that I use much more.  One problem is that my favorite game apps won't work in IOS 11. The developer said that Apple will not allow them to update the games, and urged users to complain to Apple.  Another developer said Apple was giving them so much hassle, they just won't play their game.  Since these are my favorite, play every day, games, I sure prefer not to download IOS11.

But I keep having to deny the popup that asks to to upgrade.

@JGalt, not liking the sound of this.  I left Microsoft because of all the nonsense with Windows.  Tried to open a game app the other day and it would not work😡.  LM

Hi @jackthebear! I also love the idea of fingerprint ID in principle BUT my fingerprints don’t last long enough to make that solution practical for me.

The last time I got a new phone I wound up locked out and only by the grace of remembering my 6 digit passcode did I get back in.

I’m wondering how long the facial memory feature can preserve its memory?

I put my right thumb fingerprint as 3 different prints so I have a better chance of it recognizing my print and it worked.

@Lilysmom and @JGalt,  This is puzzling since Apple provides the beta versions of upcoming iOS software well in advance to all developers and they all have the option of making their apps compatible.  I know a couple of app developers, and I've never heard of someone denied updates.   If you'll tell us which apps are having problems, specifically by name and developer, perhaps one of us can help with this.

@dooBdoo, Flip Pix puzzles is one that I referred to. I have several of these apps, big favorites of mine with endless replay. Developer is GabySoft.

Following is a copy/paste I took from their website, in response to the question would they update so the games work in iOS 11 (dated 9.23.17):

"I have tried updating the games, but Apple will NOT allow it. They consider them 'spam'. I have gone around and around with them but they will not budge. Frankly I think it is outrageous that they change their operating system to obsolete older games and then do not permit the developers to update them. I really don't know why Apple users put up with this. At this point, if you wish to continue using those games, you will need to avoid updating your device to iOS 11."

@JGalt, Thanks for providing the details.image.gif  Apple provides clear guidelines and when an app or app update is rejected they give specific reasons and steps to take to meet requirements.   The app stores are growing enormous and unwieldy, and almost unusable for their customers to sort through.   Apple concentrated on this problem this past summer, specifically on clone and spam apps, and some of the requirements have changed.
Not everyone is happy, which I fully understand, and it will be interesting to see how it plays out.   I think this story is still being written.
I'm thinking this company is one of the many affected by the summer's changes.   In looking at GabySoft's long list of apps, many have no updates since as far back as 2012, which means they never bothered to be compatible with all those iOS versions in 5 years.   Now it's probably catching up with them.
Many of their newer apps (2016, for example) have no reviews at all, which is unusual for such a prolific and evidently popular company.   I can only find one Facebook page related to the company, and they haven't posted recently.
Back in the spring they said, several times, that their developers have retired and there will be no new puzzles but they'll update the old ones.
The apps seem to be well-liked by those who have used them but honestly this looks like a company that hasn't been concerned with keeping up with their programming over the years.
It does look like their fans can try to continue with them using other platforms, but I get the impression the company is downsizing or perhaps they're just not that interested in continuing with iOS devices.
I'm sorry for your disappointment and frustration...  believe me, I understand.   No fun.   Over time I've had to give up many of my favorite apps since the developers went on to other things.
I guess the "silver lining" is that it pushes me to try new ones.   I rarely pay for apps -- I like the "Daily App Advice" (formerly "Apps Gone Free") free app to get alerts to popular ones in all categories that are available at no cost for a limited time.   Whatever you choose, though, I really do hope you can find a way to enjoy your favorites.❤️

It never hurts to let Apple know if we have concerns or suggestions.     They've been known to react and make changes based on heavy activity in feedback submitted, so it might be worth it in this case -- specifically since so many developers are involved.    For third-party mobile apps, I would think these 2 might be the best to use:

For iPad:

https:// www . apple . com/feedback/ipad.html

For iPhone:
https:// www . apple . com/feedback/iphone.html

This is the main feedback page, and you can click on the product of your choice to use the appropriate form:

https:// www . apple . com/feedback/

(remove spaces in URLs or search for "Apple product feedback" -- I'm not sure direct links to the Apple dot com site are permitted)

@dooBdoo, how interesting... just went to check the bejeweled app and it is working now.  Thank you, I had given it up for a lost cause!  LM
