IE9 and short cuts opening in small window

I just recently installed IE9 and since doing so when I click on any of my short cuts they come up in a small window format I have Vista . I have researched on line and tried to follow the instructions but still can't get them to open in a full window. I hate having to maximize them manually all the time, any suggestions put very simply as I am not very computer savvy.
