I don't have a new computer with Windows 10 on it, but if your only concern about the other computer is the processor, I wouldn't let it bother me much. For most users, doing most "normal" computing stuff, any modern processor will do fine. If you're going to be doing nonstop video editing on a computer, then invest in a better processor, but for "normal" computer use, you'll be fine with an i3 processor.

Do yourself a big favor and stop trying to upgrade to Windows 10.  There is no guarantee your computer hardware or your programs wll be compatible. If you want Windows 10, either buy a new computer or have one very new that will be more compatible. 

If you computer is acting slow or sluggish, make a backup and do a system recovery or put it back to the out of the box condition.  It's easy but time consuming. Most computers with Windows 7 or newer have a built-in recovery partition that does the work for you. 

I recently restored my only Windows computer so I could give it to my neighbor.  You need time to get through the process, install all of the updates (there were 150 for my machine) and install your programs.   For the updates, I had the computer plugged into the router via cable (much faster connection) AC power and let it run all night.

A Comcast technician was here today and installed a new Gateway (router/modem).  Speed on my computer is much better now.  I ran a speed test yesterday, and the highest speed I got was between 5 and 7.  After the new Gateway was installed, I ran another speed test, and it was over 16 (wirelessly).  It should be about 26 if I plug my laptop by cord directly into the Gateway.  The technician (which is a supervisor) said he upgraded his  personal laptop (4 years old) from Windows 7 to Windows 10, and it took him about 1 hour to do it.  He said he likes Windows 10, and hasn't had any problems using it.

I think I'll wait until after I do my volunteer grocery orders tomorrow, and then try the Windows 10 update.

Your drivers have to be updated.  Win 10 will not install without the updated drivers.

Your computer manufacturer will push the updates to your computer.  Do the install and then Win 10 will upgrade.

Also, make sure that all the required Windows updates are done.

But honestly, in my view, I think you dodged a bullet.  Upgrading an operating system just plain does not always go well.  You could get it to go through and then find that some of your softwares or programs just won't operate properly - there are so many things that can cause incompatibility.

If you, then, decided to go back that can cause so many additional problems.   It's definitely a crapshoot.   

That doesn't even approach the scenario of all the bugs that have not yet been worked out of the new operating system.  I'm not one to jump into something that big right away.   I feel very comfortable waiting it out, but YMMV and I get that too.

Hi again. I found it interesting to read what people have suggested me to do. I have decide I am not going to do anything. It looks too complicated. My computer tries each day to get Windows 10. Maybe I should cancel my reservation so my computer won't keep trying.

Might want to wait it out.  I upgraded so I thought.  I could not connect to the Internet.  I had to go back to Windows 8.1.  And I then had to work on connecting which I was able to do.  What was happening, the upgrade put my desktop computer in Airplane Mode so it could not connect.  Lots of fun.  Fortunately I was able to access google on another computer, print out the fix and get back on.  But the "get back on" was with my old Windows 8.1.  I am not going to try it again.  I will wait.  They know it is a problem in my case, others having the same issues.  You might want to google your message and see what others have to say online.

Uh boy.  I better read those reviews.  This morning, I got an offer for a free download.  I "accepted" because I never liked Windows 8,  and continued to use my new computer as if I were using Windows 7.

What?!!

It keeps "trying"?  By itself?  Without your prompting?  Oh no!  I accepted a "reservation" this morning, but I was glad it was just a reservation because I wasn't sure I'd actually DO the upgrade.  R U saying the computer just tries to upgrade out of the blue by itself?  If that's the case, that IS awful.  And, typical of MSFT.

I'm going to cancel my reservation*.  Microsoft is notorious for all kinds of bugs.

Consider yourselves lucky... windows 10 has many bugs .. I m sorry I ever reserved it. I went online And had it taken off the icon too. I am never going to update to windows 10. My next computer will be a mac I am tired of windows and its problems.
