Laptops aren't going anywhere for a very long time. What a stupid thing to say.

Desktops aren't either.  People need to think outside their own use before making such statements.  I have a desktop, notebook, tablet and smart phone and I use them all under different circumstances.  Gone are the days when you only have one type of computer.

I've used pads the last 4 years and will never go back to a computer.   I hold it in my palm (with a holder) and kick back in my recliner very comfortably.  There is nothing I need to do that I can't do on my pad.

I have a laptop and a Kindle Fire....the ease of use of my Kindle has just about replaced my use of my laptop.  Once you start using these tablets its hard to give up the convenience of them. But I'm certainly not giving up my laptop.

@GCR18, me too.  When I want to send a long email message, don't force me to use a tiny phone screen to type out a long txt msg...ugh!

When I want to play an MMORPG, don't make me try to use my phone or ipad.   I need the power of a computer, thank you very much!

They all have their best uses.
