I cannot decide which laptop to buy... Any recommendations for a new pc?

My old pc laptop died and I really want a new one. I have a Mac but want a pc for things that I always did on my pc. I have a lot of programs and loved the games on my dead pc.

It is difficult to compare PCs online. I want to be sure there are enough usb port and a dvd/cd drive etc etc. I am leaning toward an HP but unsure -so would welcome any recommendations.
