The title is "PINES (The Wayward Pines Trilogy Book 1) by Blake Crouch.

There is a movie in the works for 2015. The author says he was inspired by "Twin Peaks" the television series. Here's a teaser:

"Secret Service Agent, Ethan Burke arrives in Wayward Pines, Idaho, with a clear mission:locate and recover two federal agents who went missing in the bucolic town one month earlier. But within minutes of his arrival, Ethan is involved in a violent accident. He comes to in a hospital......"

If you like mystery and drama, then you will LOVE this.

I don't think it's a 2015 movie, I think it's a 2014 FOX TV series that starts this fall or winter. It has a lot of big names attached and you can find it listed on IMDB.com. It sounds pretty good.

I picked up the first two books in this trilogy and read about halfway through the first one. For some reason it just depressed me and creeped me out so much that I couldn't finish it. But then I wanted to know what the heck happened so I read the last chapter. I'm not sure why this bothered me so much - I read lots of murder mysteries and occasionally some science fiction. But I just found the story line upsetting. Weird. (But well-written.) I gave them to my friend's DH who likes science fiction.
