I am browsing on the collectionsetc. website. I have a password and have bought from them before. This page comes up asking me to verify by sliding a puzzle piece in place. Is this a scam or legit? Anyone have this happen? I cannot continue unless I do this.

@frenchie It's legit.  A lot of websites do that even when you log out and log back in within a few minutes.  Just the algorithm built into the the sign in process of the website.  If you went directly to a website, it's not a scam.  It's fine, annoying as heck but it's fine :-)

I ran into this one the other day.  I actually like it better than clicking on all the squares that have a bike or car.  Some of those are getting so difficult to see clearly.

Thank you for clearing that up.

Many websites require this annoying task.

@frenchie,

I ordered from that catalog about 10 years ago. It has so many great things and amazing prices.

The illuminated light that I got with an angel cutout for Christmas still works beautifully.

It has color changing lights and

is a beautiful red color.

The other thing I got was a very pretty windchime with crystal beads that sparkled.

At the time, nothing in the catalog was more than $15. And that is what they advertised.

It didn't have that slide thing of course but it does this time.

I don't know how the quality is today but such a fun company.

I don't like it though when you can't even look at a website without signing in, or disabling cookies, or this slide to the right thing. I tend to just back on out.

"If you walk the footsteps of a stranger, you'll learn things you never knew. Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains? can you paint with all the colors of the wind?"

I check real estate listings on Trulia.  After viewing several listings, all of a sudden that stupid bar comes up to prove I'm a human.  Don't understand what difference it makes but I hold the tab and voila, I prove I'm a human--LOL!!!

@frenchie

It's been a form of verification for years.  Nothing to worry about Smiley Happy
