How does google know my cc # ?......... I watch the cutest live stream about deer trail in/on Youtube..then I hit the "donate" bar and instantly they charge my cc.

How do they know all my information or which card I have and where are they finding all this info on me ?  I fill out nothing at all....but it's on my bank statement.

eta :: I love donating to help feed the deer and all animals...that is not any problem.. the deer here in my avitar is a buck - females are does...and then fawns.. I studied up on all...and it's in MINN...very nice/loving place.

I think I'd be a bit (or a lot) more selective about choosing charities to which I donate.   This sounds like the perfect set-up for a scam.

          @cbrite,  I'm only aware of one way to make payments on YouTube and that's by first establishing a Google account with a payment method entered and verified.    Are you sure you didn't do that sometime in the past?   I can't think of another way for them to link to your credit card, but perhaps someone else knows.

The 'bar/button' says "SUPPORT", not donate. Wanted to correct that.

dooBdoo, I agree but for the life of me I have no idea what I have purchased related to any google item. I know many sites are google 'verified'.... and google 'protected' incase the purchased item has any problem, google promises protection.

Every donation I've made to other sites is put through Paypal.... or I just use my CC and fill out the info.

I do not have Facebook so I cannot ask the owners. I may try/attempt to ask on their Youtube page again. To clarify how that is working. I have a feeling Google gets a percentage of their live stream. It's just creepy Google knows so much about a person.

Thanks for the responses. It's concerned me for a few weeks now. I don't know of anything Google 'sells' in reality.

I'm going to make an educated 'guess' that the site I use to create/design signs (such as for the property, yard, parties, banners, etc.) is google verified.

I use that site a lot or have over the years. And use that same CC for check out. It's got to come from that. But I'm still going to request it from the owners of Deer Trail on YT as well.

Google wants you to provide a credit card when creating your account. I've had to find the "not now" (or "skip" or "later" or whatever they label the link) to move forward more than once when using a new device. I would think there would be some  kind of confirmation  page before the money is automatically charged to your credit card.

If they've obtained your number from something you've purchased, there was probably an "opt out" box that needed to be unchecked if you didn't want the number added to your Google account (or possibly an "opt in" box that you checked either by mistake or because you weren't clear what it meant/thought you had to). 

I would suggest going into Google WALLET and checking your settings. You may well be able to delete the card or adjust the settings more to your liking. I deliberately have never given them a credit card number so I don't know what options are available.
