@glb613 Now why did you post the So?  @alicedeewas simply making a statement about her sister.  She didn't say anything negative.  She simply stated her sister didn't own a cell phone.  Like everything there are two sides.  On one hand maybe the sister is happy because she isn't bothered by people, etc.

I posted for an answer.  She had to be making some kind of statement, but what?  I know there are a lot of people who wear their lack of understanding like a badge of honor.  Maybe that is why she posted.

if you want an answer to a question,  @glb613 ask it nicely...your comment came across as terse and rude.  Perhaps that was not your intention.

My point was merely that some people over 60 are very tech savvy....and others have no experience or knowledge in that area.  @Annabellethecat66 was encouraging anyone intimidated by technology to not be afraid of the Apple Watch, as it is very user friendly.

I can't believe how easy it was to set it up and attach it to my Iphone!.

Just wanted you guys who are also 'challenged electronically' and were hesitant to get it.  Don't be because if I can do it ....my cat Bill can do it (he's smart but more cat smart)....

@itsmagic Yes!  I totally agree with you.  I had my printer hooked up to my old router (son-in-law gave me a new printer and hooked it up) and then I upgraded my router because I've been adding things left and right and wanted a faster router.

Now I'm going crazy trying to figure out how to hook up this new printer to my lap top (it's wireless and air something, so it is a bit challenging).

I posted this because I think so many people are like the way I used to be, think they can't work or figure out how to connect these gadgets.  For the most part connections are made very easy because they want people to use them and they won't if it's too difficult.

I like it when I hear people who are a bit older (like in their 60's or so and retired or on way to retire) jump out there and try new things like you and I are doing.  After all, now this is my opinion, we can do anything a younger person can do (and sometimes better)....HA!

A lot of us "old folks" aren't technically challenged.  I'm 74, but started working on computers back in the early 80s when they were just introducing personal computers into offices.

Re: I Bought Myself An Apple Watch and

@ALRATIBA Like so many electronic things, they keep coming down in price and getting better.  I remember when my late husband used to have to use pay phones.  Ha!  He was a hold out on them, but it was stupid because if anyone needed one....he did.  He died in 2004 and by then he'd had one for awhile.  (It got to the point where he couldn't find a pay phone!).  Ha!  And...(get this...he owned a computer  business since the early 80's).  He just didn't like them (I used to tease him that he just didn't want me to be able to get a hold of him).

Funny story (totally unrelated):  We developed property down in Florida (near Pensacola) so he traveled down there for maybe two days usually every other week.  It was when he wanted to go but he loved doing it.  We had wonderful long talks on the phone because he was lonely (good for a marriage, those long phone talks...loved it).  Anyway, I'm drifting...So I'd just spoken to him, it was a warm summer evening and he was looking forward to driving his beloved pickup truck over to a shack of a restaurant where he could get his beloved bread puddin'.

We'd just hung up when the phone rang again....I picked it up and I heard him singing very loudly, "Sittin' on the dock of the bay wastin' time..."  At first I thought he was just being silly so I called out his name, (no answer) the radio was playing very loudly...he was justa a' singin' like crazy....I loved it.

I suddenly felt like a peeping tom and was embarassed for listening to him because I realized he'd BUTT DIALED ME!  He had a habit of putting his cell phone in his back pocket and I guess it had hit 'redial'!

I waited about 45 minutes and called his cell phone:  He answered....I started singing, "Sittin' on the dock of the bay wastin' time".....he started laughing and said, "How did you know I was just singing that ?  I'm sitting here on this dock I've been working on drinking milk and eating my bread puddin'"

I said, "You've always told our girls I have eyes in the back of my head.....well, I have other talents too...you'll never get away with anything..."  He started laughing and then I told him what he'd done.  He said, "I knew one day this ****** cell phone would get me in trouble".  Ha!

Happy New Year sweet @ALRATIBA

Re: I Bought Myself An Apple Watch and

@alicedee He was the one who made the stories, I just told his stories.  He did some crazy things, but I had the reputation of being the ditzy one!  Ha!

We'd just celebrated 38 years together at the beach with a housefull of family and friends and one week later he just dropped dead.

He was wonderful....I've been told by several people I should write a book but I'm way too lazy.
