Windows 7 will no longer be supported as of 1-14-20.

Leave him alone. WIndows and Microsoft will force the issue and he won't be mad at you.

Why give it up? The program will still work, just no further up dates. I know people still chugging along with Windows 95/97, 2000 and in my opinion the best XP.

Thank you! 😉
I have a laptop running Win 7. 10 yrs old, bought it here. On it's last legs no doubt but I have Office Professional on it for spreadsheets, etc. Not giving it up until I have to.
I only use it when I need Office or to print docs, burn a CD...yep I still do that, too!

I understand his reasons completely. I used to use DOS and loved it. When Windows came out I was devastated, but had no choice but to upgrade.
Windows 7 IMO, was nicer and easier to use than Windows 10, which I hate. I think XP was the best version to date. With Windows 10, every time they add an update, there are problems.
I hardly ever use my laptop anymore unless I have to. I prefer to use a tablet.

YES. A computer virus is like a cold. It can infect everything, emails, data files, and even steal personal information.
Microsoft has given customers 10 years of support. What more can we want?
I also have a Windows 7 machine. I stopped using it as my main computer years ago.

Windows 7 was a terrible piece of software. The flash player updates were a nightmare. It didn't handle memory well. I was glad to see it leave.
My main computer is running WINDOW 8.1. It runs fairly well and can heal itself. The task manager does a decent job of working with cpu memory.
I have a Windows 10 laptop. Sometimes it takes an hour to install major a versions update. I do like this software. It works for me, and no flash player updates.
JMO. TurboTax is the worst product. There have been times, when I could not install this software. Customer service does not exist today . I always keep a clean computer in the house. It can be a new or any system running a secure copy of Windows.

Windows 7 users love(d) it. Nothing Microsoft released was or is as good since then.
I began using Windows when 3.0 was released around 1990-92. All new releases were pretty good until Windows 8, but many users stayed with Windows 7. 10 has baggage, and glitches Microsoft hasn't fixed.
I'm also a desktop user wanting large screens. I'm using a 24" and when it dies, my next will be 27". No tiny screens for me.
I'd advise your husband wait until Microsoft's next Windows release. Then buy a new computer with it installed.
I never would have downloaded 10 over 7. Are they even compatible?

I recently bought a new Windows 10 desktop to replace my old Windows 7 desktop. I also have an iPad which I use a lot but sometimes it’s just nice to sit at the desk and have a larger screen when doing a longer project. It was an easy transition going from Windows 7 to 10 and my new desktop is much faster.
