We canceled Directv last Tuesday. How long does it take them to send the box to return their equipment?
The email I got says I have 21 days to return it before they charge me for it. after I get the box.

@Nataliesgramma - I don't remember exactly, but I believe it could have been well over a week. maybe more.
The onus is on them. Don't worry, they'll get it to you.

Be sure to save a copy of your tracking number. We have had multiple experiences with DirectTV trying to bill us for not returning an item ... Luckilly always had the tracking numbers to back us up.

In my case they never sent one. All they sent was a envelope for the cards. My equipment was so outdated they didn’t want any of it back.

How do you send that satellite dish back in a box when it could be mounted on the roof or other high place. Do they expect you to go up and get it? I would think someone would have to come to dismount it and pick it up.

It took about 10 days or so..but it was not a box...it was a mailing bag...like QVC sends their items in...all fit in including cords and remotes..Dont worry!!

@Carmie - They don't want the dish back. That's yours forever. They only want the DVR or reception "black" boxes or the cards.

My mother switched from direct tv to cable and they wanted something on the dish returned. This was about eight years ago. I told the rep, the dish was mounted on the roof and my mother wasn't physically capable of going up on a ladder. I went round and round and they finally gave me the okay not to send it back. It's ridiculous these companies are eager to install their equipment, but won't uninstall it. Then you are stuck jumping through hoops to not get charged for missing something.

I had my Direct TV disconnected on December 2nd and haven't gotten anything from them requesting the old receivers back. I'm about ready to trash them. Mine are so old, they'd be suitable for inclusion in the satellite museum. I don't think they ever want the dishes back. They hope a new tennent will reuse it.
