Data free is going to be a challenge for you. If you're within range of Wi-Fi you won't use your phone data, but I'm assuming that's not the case. That pretty much means you need to use data. I typically use the Tune-In radio app.

I listen to radio on an Amazon Dot, which uses Wifi.  Or you can use any other smart speaker.

Iheartradio or spotify but both use data.  We have unlimited though.

I don't have a smart phone. But my smart TV has internet radio which sounds really good coming through my home theater sound system.

I play Amazon Music or Napster when riding bike for 15 minutes. Data use for streaming music or reading emails is not high. Your wireless provider should have a tool on their site to estimate use.
Video users lots of data.
I want to LOL. I need to replace my smartphone. I will have to buy an unlimited plan. I now have small data plan.

@Nuttmeg , I heard the other day that a subscription to Spotify uses no data.  Depending on the cost of data, that might be a good option.  LM
