How do I clear Cookies and Cache?

I still cannot get into Forums and Blogs the usual way, and clearing cookies and cache was recommended to me last week.

Can someone give me step- by- step instructions, please?

Thank you.

Re: How do I clear Cookies and Cache?

It depends on the browser.  Which are you using?  In Chrome, go to "More tools," then "Clear browsing data."

I have the same problem as you.  It takes me one more click than normal to get to the Forums.  I just tried clearing cache, will see if that does the trick.

It depends on whether you are using a tablet, or a computer.

I use CCleaner https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download ,

https://singularlabs.com/software/system-ninja/ and https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/

I use the free version of these programs.

I have a favorite program. It is Belarc Advisor. http://www.belarc.com/  It tells me whether all my Window security updates are installed. The other day I was missing Apple's Icloud for windows 6.0. I was able to fix the problem.

There is a pretty fundamental need to keep a computer cleaned up, so to speak.   If you haven't been doing this you will probably be shocked once you clean things up, at the performance you gain.

Maybe the easiest thing would be to install CCleaner and use that.  It's a free program and stays out of the way.

OOPS, sorry Nutmeg.  I just noticed that that is one of the links you provided.

@Big Sister  What are you running?  Internet Explorer or Chrome?  If not either one of these then I will be of no help.

If Internet Explorer:  Sorry this is blurry.  See the row below the blue left arrow>  Click on Tools, then Delete Browsing History.  Make sure all of the boxes are checked in the Delete Browing Window.

If you are using Chrome - hit ALT and the H key.  Then click Browsing History.  That will make you have to sign in to any applications (facebook, email) that you were in before you cleared the browsing history, but that should go a long way to clearing out cookies and cache.

@Bird mama  Hello, thanks for your reply.  I am using my PC with Firefox.  I'm back to tell  you I installed CCleaner and so far it has not taken care of my problem.  Perhaps I have not given it enough time to clear Cookies and Cache.

You know that you need to actually run it, right?  You open it up and, on the lower right corner of the screen you click on 'run cleaner'.

@Big Sister, Please look at @Bird mama's link.   This is really all you need to do.    Remember, normal cookies are associated with your browser.   (Browsers are the software which allows you to access and use the internet, the most popular ones being Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, and the newer Microsoft Edge.)

It's wise to delete cookies/cache/website data, close the browser and then relaunch it on a regular basis -- you'll find that it clears up a myriad of problems.  (Regarding CCleaner for any Apple devices, I would discourage its use.   It's not needed and has been known to remove important files causing major problems -- please, if you decide to use it on Apple mobile devices or computers, be sure you have a recent, reliable backup in case you encounter problems.)

I hope that helps!

@dooBdoo@Bird mama  Thank you for trying to help me.  But I tried and was not able to do it.  I'll have to wait for my friend to come over and walk me through it.  In the meantime I will continue to get to blogs and forums by clicking on my BOOKMARKS for the page I want.  Thanks again, I reallly appreciate you.  I wished you lived next door.  lol
