How can I reduce screenshot file sizes so I can post them ?

How can I reduce screenshot file sizes so I can post them ? So many of the photos I save have too many pixels for posting using the little photo icon we have here. I'm on an IPad. I get messages that will say the file size is too large. Sometimes I go back online and hunt for photos with graphics that aren't as good.

There are many I can post, I just can't post ones that have too big a pixelation. i see others opting some.

@Mindy D I had problems with that as well. When you select the photo from your photo library to insert for posting, there will be print at the bottom of the photo saying Actual Size. Tap those words. A choice of sizes will appear. I usually choose Large, and it works. The photo will progress through the remainder of the posting prompts. If not, retrace your steps and select Medium.

Edited to Add: I had a screen shot that would not post. It had a red X where the shot should have appeared. I do not know how to deal with that one.

I am posting from an iPad.

I'm using a computer, but if you can do a Save, you should be able to change the size iin the dialog box that comes up.  Mine has a slider bar (see below, it's the Quality slider bar).  It's not the number of pixels; it's the number of Kilobytes.  As you move the slider bar, it should show you the KB for where it's at.  Stay below 1.5 MB and you should be good.

I can't just do a Save As with a saved file, so I do a Copy then File - New From Clipboard and then Save it using the slider bar to change the KB's.

Keep in mind, a .png file will use a LOT more KB's than a .jpg so if your screenshot is saving as a .png, just simply changing that setting will lower the number of KB's.

Yes I post on my iPad and you are correct how to adjust the size of a photo.  It took awhile but I finally figured it out.

@jackthebear @I'm not sure why this is but I can not copy and directly paste photos in the reply box. I can copy and paste text though. I'm not on a computer. I'm on an iPad, which could have something to do with it.
