I do realize the possible implications. But it's not just Google and Alexa. Smartphones are just as bad and have cameras that have the ability to be used without your knowledge. Do they do it? Don't know but they can. A few years ago 20/20 did an expose on Smart devices. I don't recall seeing anything that surprised me but I'm sure it's surprised a whole lot of people. I've been using this kind of Technology since 2016 and don't have any plans to stop. I know the risks, but love technology.

I'm not putting anybody down. I just simply asked a question and as often happens on the forms, it went sideways. I was however surprised to learn that so many here didn't use them. I don't use my fingers to text, I use my voice.

@monicakm I've never had any luck voice texting. Guess it doesn't recognize my accent.

You're making me feel better about myself LOL I think my issue now is a progressing MS (cognitive) combined with Neurontin.
I think I've had the Monday Night Football ringtone in the past but for the last 3 years, it's been there Chief's fight song
Every year after football is over, I wonder what to do with myself on Sundays.

I'm a Baby Boomer. Being born in 1959, I just squeaked in. My mother and I talked recently about how I barely got in on the tech side of things. She had a house full of Googles too but only has one where she is now. She had me buy her a few when she saw what I did with mine. Her favorite thing was listening to talk shows and sermons on the radio.

Did you first train your voice for voice texting/commands? That's a must.
@monicakm , no, that was at least 2 phones ago and I only tried to do it because I was driving. Maybe with my new phone when it gets here, but I wouldn't hold my breath. It's not going to make my life particularly easier. It won't encourage me to text more. The most useful feature of my phone, IMO, is the camera.
