No? Oh well. I live with my phone. I don't play games but it's used to text with my husband's designer ladies to book jobs, text with my grandchildren and daughter. It's a handheld computer and a camera. I used to not use a phone as my camera but the quality has gotten good enough plus I no longer have photographer needs. My Google screened devices play YT vids and I can ask Google anything from any room so the phone isn't really used for that unless I'm in my car. I gave my Samsung tablet away when I started buying "phablets" (larger phones with tablet features). I use it for Amazon if I'm not at my computer. I use it to check on the dogs when we're gone or use it to check on them when they are outside and I'm in the house. I use it with Life360 to know where my husband is. Occasionally I'll even talk on it
@monicakm Just because others here don't choose to use their phone in the way you do or use Alexa or some other voice-activated device doesn't mean they don't enjoy technology I don't want them in my home. I don't think I'm missing anything because I don't use them, and I'd prefer not to have them snooping on me. I've got enough stuff snooping on me as it is.
I can type on my computer at least 3 times faster than I can text, and without even looking at it while I'm doing it. I hate texting and only do it if I have to. My daughter PM's me on Facebook. My phone is typically either in my back pocket or in my purse or sitting on the table. I put it in it's cradle to charge at night. If it's not in one of those places, then I am apt to forget where I put it. But, I don't need Alexa to find it for me.
I do use mine to take pictures, but I don't use it to shop or bank. I just prefer a computer for those things.
I often have 2 computers going at one time, and may also have the tablet going at the same time playing music or listening to other things
You shouldn't put down people because they choose a different way to do things. I've learned over the years that my husband and I do almost everything differently. That doesn't mean that one way is right, or even better, only different.

I found my debit card and car keys in the meat drawer of my fridge. And this was YEARS ago! Also years ago, I was at WM, talking to my mom on my phone when I said "MOM, I've lost my phone!" We spent at least 5 minutes trying to back track looking for it (while I was talking to her one it)
LOL. I, too, have been on my phone while looking for it. I was getting ready to leave the house and wanted to make sure I put my phone in my purse so I was looking in the usual spots for it, not realizing I was TALKING on it! Hahaha
The one thing I would need to ask Alexa several times a day is "where are my glasses?". I lose them constantly!

Found out the hard way with both items - I FINALLY learned LOL!!!
I'll try to learn like you did but I'm not holding out much hope
Oh trust me, it took me quite a while LOL!
Whether I'm using it or not, I like to keep it handy in case of an emergency, either for myself or an accident on the street.
BTW, don't let anyone get ya down. This is a discussion board for all kinds of things; some big - some small. Just because it's a smaller issue doesn't mean it doesn't affect our day to day lives. I come here to get thoughts on all kinds of things. Others suggestions have helped me solve some of my own issues!!!

@monicakm wrote:Alexa/Google, "find my phone"? Is it just me? Is it my MS/Neurontin brain that can't remember diddly squat? I bet I ask Google 20 times a day, "Hey Google, find my phone" (sigh)
During the day, I keep my phone in my pocket. Only occationally I misplace it.

@monicakm Sorry, after reading several posts, I think this went way off track.
To answer your question, nope. We don't have Alexa/Google for a number of reasons. However, my daughter has Alexa and when visiting I get a kick out of asking her questions, the weather, setting the timer, putting something on my daughter's grocery list, etc. My favorite is to ask it to sing a nursery rhyme to sing to my granddaughter that I forgot all the lyrics to.
Another reason for not using Alexa to find something, I am already worried about dementia that I think it would be something else I don't have to use my brain for.

I have a flip phone that I keep in my purse.
I have a landline at home and I figure if I want to look something up I will go to the computer and if someone wants to get in touch with me then they will call the landline.

Never, I don't have those talking devices in my home.

Yes, I could use a system! My husband says to get a lanyard and tie it around my neck LOL
This was meant to be just a friendly (I should have known better) chat. Apparently most here don't use their phones much at all. I don't need a tablet. My phone is my tablet and much easier to carry around (and lose).
Sorry if you thought I was being unfriendly. For some people, a computer is their primary device. For others ,the primary is their phone.
I think a 15 inch screen on a laptop is much better than a 5 inch screen on a phone, but that's JMO.
Just curious .... all the times you have lost your phone and need help finding it .... is there a pattern to where you put it down? In the bathroom? The kitchen?
