@BarbaraQVC I tried to add a photo avatar from my Kindle. I only do QVC from my Kindle.  Impossible. Why do you people make everything so difficult?  Ridiculous.

If it's that important to you, do it from a computer not a mobile device.

I'm not tech savvy in the least but I love the avatars a lot of you use for your presence on these boards. I would like to know if it is safe to download an avatar from a website that offers free avatars. I'm very skeptical and would hate if I got a virus or something from an unsafe website. I hope this doesn't sound dumb, I thank you for any advice you can offer me.

Hi @Jordan2. Your Avatar will become your 'face' to your fellow posters. Your name, the way you express your thoughts here, will be associated with your avatar. Make it unique.
If you pick something from a website there's always the off chance someone else may show up wearing 'your face' someday.
I think you'll be happiest if you pick something that's really 'you' in some way that's meaningful to you.

Hi @Pruett

I will try my best to walk you through adding an avatar.  It is probably easier if you use a desk top rather then a mobile device.

To choose an Avatar: 

Hover your mouse cursor over your name.

Click My Settings.

Click Avatar.

To upload a picture for your Avatar:

Click Upload an Avatar.

Click BROWSE to navigate to the picture on your computer.

Click SAVE to go to the next screen and reposition the Avatar box.

The shaded part of the image will not appear in the Avatar preview at the top right and will not appear in your Avatar. Use your mouse to "grab" and move the clear box with the dotted outline so that you Avatar is positioned well in the preview. 

Click SAVE AND CONTINUE to finalize your Avatar image.

@Barbara-QVC, thank you so much for explaining this! I have wanted an avatar for a long time but didn't have a clue how to do it. It just shows this was very well explained because an idiot like myself  who isn't tech savvy figured it out!

@Jordan2, don't know what you've done but as I view your avatar it is cycling between six different pictures.

Each picture displays for less than one second. It just switches from picture to picture to picture. Hopefully @Barbara-QVC can help you straighten that out.

I am glad that you figured out how to add an avatar.  As @x Hedge mentioned, you do seem to have a slideshow going on for the avatar you selected.  Did you upload just a single image?
