Hello~ to any of you geeks, or electronically saavy peeps...a two-fold question..
I'm in the market for a new iPad, currently I own an 8 y.o. iPad 2, doesn't even support latest software update, and has become impossible to use on many platforms, other than basics. I recently did a Google search and got overwhelmed by the different ones offered now as usually I'd just go to the store (closed now indefinitely) and have them help me...I just want a good updated one, that I can use also like a laptop with bluetooth keyboard like I used to with mine (until that conked out and iPad is too old to get a good new one.)
I saw iPad Air, iPad and another, don't know the difference?? I used to think there only was MacAir which was Apple's laptop? I just want a good new iPad....any advice, details, your experience??
Also, with assisted living facilities on lockdown...can't visit my 91 y.o. ailing mom ((, I can only FT when I randomly catch an aide or nurse who uses their iPhone to FT with me and her. I am either going to give her my older iPad if I can get a new one soon. OR I had heard someone on the radio in same situation say they just got their dad in assisted living an "Amazon Show"...which are very reasonable, you apparently have to Skype with, but may be easy for her to use. Any feedback on that, anyone who owns one who can sum up what they do and if this would work for this need??
ANY info is appreciated, as I will also still try to sift through online info...I am better when just going to a store, which I can't do right now...and when buying my iPad I really want to make sure I get the right thing for myself. Tks in advance!

I've had an iPad since the very first day they were released. Literally the first day.
I recently bought a new one and bit the bullet and bought the iPad Pro. I almost stayed with the regular iPad, but I am on my iPad for hours every day so last minute, I went with the Pro. I LOVE it!!!! I'm so glad I spent the extra and got it.

That was the 3rd one I couldn't recall...iPad, iPad Pro and iPad Air...what is the dif between regular iPad and Pro? I realize you probably can only synopsize that answer...and did you buy direct from Apple? I'm just trying to get some info from people's experience to kind of know how to break it down and know where I can begin for myself. Tks again for feedback! Also, maybe Apple will walk me through by phone to customer service...

@amyb, there are many variables. What size do you prefer? Best Buy is also a great place to check out different Apple products. The iPad Pros have better processors along with better screen displays. Most people probably don't really need for normal use. Best Buy and I assume Apple, have a 10.2" latest iPad with 128g for $429.99. You can get a keyboard case for it and it can use the Apply pencil. On Best Buy and Apple websites, you can compare different models. Apple stores are closed but online is open. Best Buy stores are still open with shorter hours. I don't know what QVC has to offer at the moment. You can check when an iPad came out by googling the model number. It really depends on the size of the screen that you want, amount of storage, and how fancy the inside that you need. You can still the same apps and updates.

I'm an Apple girl too. I suggest you go to the apple site and speak with an advisor. Go to the iPad page and hit buy on any product and you can contact for help with buying. You can get all your questions answered. Good luck.

Thank you~that's what I was hoping for. I just need the guidance as I never even shopped for the first one, was a bday gift from my bf, and at the time, was pretty simple what to buy once you figured out how many gigs you wanted to pay for. Anyway, I'll go that route.
Still if anyone also wants to share any input still interested.

first of all
decide how much you want to spend?
after look at the apple site
do you want just a basic or a "pro" type with a huge memory and the apple pencil and the best screen, cellular which will cost more
that should help
for just being online and doing stuff like this you don't need the 120+ plus G
I have 32gb and just wifi and it's just fine
hope this helps
the OS is the same on all of them and any info you have will come over on the new one once you log in with your apple ID

Go on Apple' s website and compare specs. Only you know specifics as to what you are looking for, you own personal needs, your budget.

@amyb - the ipad pro is bigger than the regular iPad. 12.9 inches I think. I bought it directly from Apple and I DID purchase the Apple Care extended warranty.

I believe that as of today Best Buy stores are no longer allowing walk in business. You can buy and pick up and they'll bring it to the curb.
