Help, dell Inspiron N5110 screen is gray when turned on!

I have a DELL Inspiron 5110 laptop purchased March 2012. The screen suddenly does not work when the pc is powered on. I see nothing but gray! Help! Is this something that can be fixed? I don't know if I should take it to a geek squad, don't want to have to pay them a lot just to tell me nothing can be done to fix it.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.
