Help!Half of my notes on my I-phone are gone.

I don't know what happened but notes that I put in my note app. Are missing. Does anyone know something about this and how I might find them?

Did you look in the Cloud?

Re: Help!Half of my notes on my I-phone are gone.

@isaboo   try going into your notes and using the search bar at the top to find a missing note. Example: you can't find your budget note - put the word budget in your search bar and see if it comes up.  It should come up. Like the other poster suggested some of your notes might be saved in "iCloud". I have a lot of notes and some are on my iPhone and some are stored in iCloud. Hope that helps!

is this notes app that comes with the iphone? that's happened to me more than once. i close the app, reopen, then its back. the last time it happened, it never came back. my sister suggested i go to the app store and download a notes app, so that's what i use now.

I will go try these suggestions. Thank you so much. I don't really know how the I-cloud works?

         Do you mean just get out of the app?

  • This happened to me recently, but I have an android, not an iPhone. I was frantically clicking on icons in both the top and bottom margins trying to figure out how to retrieve my lost notes. I finally found them in the "trash" folder. I transferred them back over, problem solved. Hope this helps-good luck!

@redwrite

Are you during a backup of your phone's essential contents to your Google account?

I know you can save your apps, and contacts to your Google cloud account.

I am able to find help for most things on YouTube.

@isaboo   Your phone should be set up to back-up your iPhone to iCloud every night.  Go to Settings, click on your name, iCloud, iCloud Backup (it should say on).  If it's not on, then click it on.

Then go to icloud.com.  I don't know how to tell you to sign in, because mine just tells me to use my touch id to sign in.  Yours may, too.  Your notes should be there if they're backed up.

When you go to your notes, are you going to your folder in your notes, then All iCloud?  All of your notes should be there.

It's remote data saving provided by Apple. You need to set it up intially to save your data so, if you didn't it's probably not there.
