Anybody have one of these? I know there was an issue with one on QVC, but I'm looking on eBay or Amazon. I don't need a giant copy machine in my office, just something to scan client's insurance cards.
Any brand suggestions? Oh, and it won't be connected to a computer until I get home.
TIA.

I have a VuPoint Magic Wand III. I thought it would be easier for me to scan in more things but it ended up not being what I expected.
To scan you have to make sure you go straight and it helps if what you are scanning has no folds in it. You have to "crop" the part you do not want in whatever it is that was scanned. Sure you can find a background that maybe matches what you are scanning, but once again this thing I thought would make it easier and less time consuming.
Now if you want to use it for more of a portable capacity then it would probably be something I would say would work well for you. For me just wanting to make it easier to scan receipts/invoices and things like that? I can do it better and faster on my regular Canon Scanner and don't have to worry about it being crooked or the background.
Now the newer model by VuPoint, I think it is the Magic Wand IV, you can buy a feeder that you can put in the portable part and feed it like a shredder. There are several brands on the market and it never hurts to check amazon for these things. It will pull in whatever you want to scan and you don't have to rely on a shaky hand or straight motion to get a good quality scan. For me that would be the thing that would give me a whole different opinion of the one I bought. But this model does not have that available so I am stuck with what I have got.
I would prefer just being able to plug it into any electrical outlet in our home and then feed the things onto the SD card. Some now do them at a even higher resolution and also the ones with the feeder also are faster than the first versions that came out.
All depends on how you plan on using it I guess. For me and my used without a the document feeder part? I am still using my flat bed scanner because it works better and is easier to use and get a better quality copy of whatever I am scanning.
