RinaRina I wish I could return it.  QVC won't take it back - it's past 30 days.

Thanks.

@FranandZoe- Check your state's consumer laws.  Some states, like my own, have what's called an "Implied Warranty Law" that overrides any manufacturer's warranty on items like this.

If your state has one, both the manufacturer and the retailer (in this case, QVC) are responsible for resolving the issue.  You would need to notify both in writing.  (I did this once, with something that failed after 3 1/2 years and our state's implied warranty law covered it for 4 years. They even provided the form letter I needed to send to both parties.  Without going into any personal details, I got a complete refund.)

It may be that you'll get your HP fixed again without the need to chase it up, but it doesn't hurt to investigate what protections your own state offers you.

@FranandZoe

"Email corporate?"

If it ever comes to that (last resort), SNAIL MAIL corporate.  Never "email corporate."   Plus mark the envelope personal & strictly confidential.  This way it will go straight to "the head of the company."  You can get the persons name if you do a Google or Binge search.

Also, cc: your letter to the repair department.

Re: HP laptop repair

[ Edited ]

Update:

I decided to email corporate this morning - just thought it would be quicker.  They called me about a half hour ago then sent a follow up email.  Very apologetic - said it should not have taken this long for me to receive a return box.  They are sending a box out for me to send the laptop to them for repair.  Funny thing is she couldn't find anything in their system and I was never given a case or ticket number.  I should have the box Tuesday.

I know to some it seemed like I was being unreasonable but as it turns out if I hadn't been proactive about it I may have never received the repair box from them.

Stunned they got back to me so quickly!  Hope it works out.

Thanks again everyone!
