HP TSV 7/7/13

So I got the tsv by HP on 7/7/13. Seems kinda slow when loading things or updating stuff. My problem is when I try to use the numerical pad I can't get any of the numbers to work. The scrolling and paging up and down etc works. Is there something that needs to be done so the numbers work on the number pad? This is my first laptop so appreciate if anyone can help me.
