I was hoping you would get an answer. I am on the fence. I like the specs but I am wondering if I just should wait for something else as I keep being told laptops are on their way out. Not sure I should believe that. Good price however

Not a good deal. Its a cheap laptop. Only 4 GB Ram, you should really look for something with at least 8 GB RAM if you run a lot of things at the same time, and especially if you plan on viewing any video like YouTube, Netflix, etc. Heck, windows 8 alone will use up 1/2 of that RAM.

Also, it has AMD processor. Some will debate about this, but personally I think Intel processor is the best. AMD processor gets slow fast, in my experience.

I bet if you put the specs into your bowser, and just looked for a computer without all of the other stuff they are selling with this, you would find the price to be around $200. Thats a cheap throw away computer price. But they jacked up the price for TSV by adding all that other stuff to it...which you don't need.

I'd look online for a computer, from the manufacturer itself. HP, Dell, Apple all offer monthly financing with no interest (just like easy pay). You will get exactly what you want, and pay a lot less than on any TV shopping channel.

With those specs, it's over-priced for sure. Only 4gb RAM, 4 cell battery, and AMD processor are the first three things that jump right out.

I'm not saying that they wouldn't be adequate, but they are below par and would be ok if the price were about $499 instead of $699.

At least it's the newer RAM, but 4gb is barely adequate. An AMD processor is much less expensive than a faster Intel processor. 6 cell batteries used to be standard but I guess some are using the smaller ones now because, theoretically, less energy is needed to operate You will find the smaller batteries in the lower priced laptops.

You can do so much better from a retailer or a manufacturer website and still get 6 months interest-free. The only caveat is that I learned the hard way to be careful that laptops purchased at retailers, such as Best Buy, are model numbers that are not specifically made for said retailers, but model numbers that you can find elsewhere.

I had to laugh when I read that. While I do think it's overpriced, it's not overpriced by $400.00.

Thanks so much. I guess I was looking at the 1TB and not the rest. Also the lifetime tech support.. someone to help out. Getting lazy in my old age. I am going to forget this one. Love to have a Surface. Neat gadget. Probably over price.

I do not have any issues with AMD however. Had that processor before without any problems. Also had Intel without any problems.

Another fast question. Do you all suggest on any electronics purchase the service contract?

It's been my experience, over just the 15 years I've had computers, that 'tech support' is not very, well, helpful. I usually try to figure stuff out for myself because it's infinitely less frustrating. That's just me, though.

What I do, however, is to buy Square Trade warranties for all my laptops (and all other electronics - pretty much anything that plugs in). It's inexpensive but more importantly it's excellent service.

The one time I had to send a laptop in, I had it back and working (still works perfectly after several years and it was deadsville when I called in the warranty) in just under a week. Plus, they shipped me the laptop box and packing, a shipping box, and a prepaid FedEx label. All this came overnight and all I had to do was pack it up and drop it off (you can call for pick ups, but I like getting a receipt when I'm sending something valuable).

I wasn't that far off for guessing. Walmart has one with a 500 GB HD, instead of 1T HD for $248.00.

Hey Bonnie! I'm more of an Intel girl, but I think the big thing about this is that AMD processors are a lot less expensive than Intel processors, yet that price difference is not reflected in the prices they offer on shopping networks as a rule.

What a difference in price. I certainly do not want all THAT software that I have never heard of and will take up space. I just thought the lifetime of tech support was a nice touch. But I guess that is where the cost goes.
