Screen resolution might be a problem.  Videos are ok, but reading is hard on the eyes.  Too fuzzy.  Too bad, I would love a $200 tablet.

I think it is a very good/ deal price. I have a 7inch Hp that I paid 150 on sale from walmarts last year and I love it. I have a HP computer love that too. Enjoy your new tablet and you will use it more and more mine has replaced my phone.

@ritasNo1Fan You may want to look at reviews for an ASUS ZenPad S 8 Z580C-B1-BK 8" 32 GB. It is in your price range and has a great display.

Can anyone help this non-tech 70 yr old gramma re: tablet?  I'm so confused with all that is out there.  I would like something more portable than my old (Gateway) laptop.  Primarily to surf the web, send/rec emails.

I DO NOT own a smart phone - cost is prohibitive for me. I carry a call/text only tracfone.

Are there monthly fees to use tablets?  Is wi-fi built-in? Seems some tablets are androids - what's the difference?  I am hooked up thru comcast for wi-fi at home. Can anyone recommend a SIMPLE tablet - I don't want to pay for a bunch of features I won't use and I don't want any monthly fees. What should I expect to pay for a simple tablet?

Thanks to all you savy tech folks for any suggestions you may have.

@shoptheQ

You would enjoy an Apple Air or Air 2 Wi-Fi. You should call Apple and ask them to help you buy a tablet.

You may consider a refurbished product. Here is some more info about buying.

Apple Certified Refurbished

Free shipping on all refurbished products. Free returns.

We test and certify all Apple refurbished products and include a 1-year warranty.
All refurbished iPad models also include a brand new battery and outer shell.
Limited supplies, but updated frequently. Availability is guaranteed upon receipt of full payment

This Apple's phone #  (800) MY-APPLE (800-692-7753), 7 days a week from 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Pacific time.

I have Comcast for my ISP, and my iPad runs fine on my network. Comcast has an app to get email called Connect. You can use a tablet today just like a laptop.

A Wi-Fi tablet does not have a fee for service. It runs on your home network.
