HELP ME DECIDE BETWEEN TWO HSN COMPUTERS

I only use my computer to Google scripture, health topics, history and to chat on QVC forums.  No games, paying bills or home office stuff.  With that said, I have two computers in mind, both on sale on HSN with free shipping right now.  They are # 637-820 by Hp for $499.95 and # 631-785, a Google laptop for $299.95.  I like the Hp but want to avoid all of the problems I'm having now.  If you have time to look them up, check them out and see which one is right for me.  Thank you, SC

I would not buy either one of those. They both have slower Celeron processors in them.

Look at the sale ad on Staples site today. A new ad will start tomorrow Sun.

They have an HP 14" laptop with Intel Core i3 Processor, 8GB Ram, 1 TB hard drive fro $360 reg. $480.

They have some other laptops in their ad that go up in price like an HP Pavillion for $450 & a 17" HP for $450.

I would buy Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 over a Celeron processor any day of the week.

Re: HELP ME DECIDE BETWEEN TWO HSN COMPUTERS

I would not buy a laptop from any of the shopping channels. I asked a computer savvy friend to find one for me. He was happy to go shopping on my dime and I was happy to get what I needed and not pay more for what I did not need .Lots of sales on computers this weekend. He bought me an Acer from a small local discount electronics retailer and I paid just under $350.00 all in.

If you're only surfing the web, you might want to look at getting a tablet or a chromebook.  Check out Best Buy, Office Depot or  Staples.

Thank you for all of the advice.  I never thought to check local stores.  I figured the best computers and price deals would be found on these shopping channels.  I'm not a member of Costco but locally I have Staples and Best Buy as well as Wal Mart.  I'll shop around and take my time to find a good deal.  Thanks again,  SC

Re: HELP ME DECIDE BETWEEN TWO HSN COMPUTERS

I have moved on to a HP CB recently and never looked back , I do not want to get too much off topic. Never order a computer from a shopping channel always go to the source HP or a Walmart or Amazon. Shopping channels always sell older models and charge for bloated software you will never need or use. Just a heads up for you!! Buyer beware!!

You can usually find a better deal elsewhere.  I wish people would stop telling people the software included is useless or you'll never use it.  None of us know what appeals to or is needed by other posters.  If your current software is old, it may not be compatible with the new operating system installed.  So, maybe it would be a good deal for you.

I would recommend you look online or sale ads for local stores in your are  and see what is available.

I for one will never stop saying that... Cause its true. The software is old and they sell the bloated software to make up for the lower pricing. I am trying to help people and I will continue to!
