HEAVY DUTY CELL PHONE CASES

[ Edited ]

So .... I received my new Samsung Galaxy A16 5G phone and am reading updated 2025 reviews on Consumer Reports and a few other places.

Brands I'm seeing discussed are Otterbox, UAG, Spigen, Speck ... and several I've never heard of.

My current 2024 phone has the Spigen case, which is quite nice, but I'm looking to see if some new features have come along that I should check out.

Have you found a kick-stand on the back to be useful?

So ... anyone with an Android phone with a heavy duty case  .... what are you liking these days?

Funny story my daughter dropped her phone from a two seater plane.  It was in an otterbox and survived!  Luckily it fell on an empty football field and the vice principal was use to finding owners of cell phones and she got it back.

Re: HEAVY DUTY CELL PHONE CASES

I highly recommend Otterbox and Speck as I've had both and my phones were unscathed after some pretty hard drops on tile and stone.  I've found Speck at TJMaxx at great prices  and they held up fine.

@spumoni99  A convertable 2 seater plane?  I'm trying to picture how else the phone landed outside of the plane instead of the plane floor.

I have an Otterbox that has served me well. It does add weight but I don't mind.

@Tinkrbl44 - I was just tagging you on another thread about a new Moto G Power bundle, when I found this thread saying you've bought the Samsung.

I hope you like it.  I'm sticking with Motorola and the QVC bundle has 24 Gb of data (plus unlimited talk & text), so I'll probably get it.  My DH finally admits he doesn't need a new phone so I'll just add service to his, when it's up.  (Usually, if I'm getting something new, he has to have it, too!)  Woman Very Happy

I can't comment on cases, as I just buy a soft silicone case for our phones, but I do have an i-Ring on the back of mine and really like it.  I got it free with one of the phones I bought ages ago.

Re: HEAVY DUTY CELL PHONE CASES

I bought a military grade phone case with screen protector from Amazon. When I dropped my phone I thought the screen was all cracked.

The screen was fine but the screen protector looked all shattered?

It has a kickstand on it. I use mine all the time. When I'm holding the phone I always have one finger through the kickstand ring.

I noticed a lot of the phones aren't just covering the sides and back, but also have screen protectors, as well.

One I just looked at has both a front and back ... and is waterproof.

I don't need that, but I'm trying to stay up to speed on what's new.

Otterbox is a heavy duty cell phone case. Go to their website or check Amazon, Best Buy, and other places.
