For those with iPad vs Kindle Fire HD 8.9

I've had an mini iPad for about eight months. I find it easy to find the home button and my icons and apps are all on the home page. I don't need to swipe the page to see them (unless I add more). The downloading of apps is very easy.

I've only had the Kindle for about 24 hours but not sure it works as seemlessly as the iPad. For those who have both, what are your feelings about the differences?
