For anyone thinking of buying an HP Computer from QVC

make sure it's not being drop shipped from HP.

I received the TSV from 3 weeks ago today. It was shipped directly from China. Try to imagine taking your new laptop and wrapping a thin layer of cardboard around the laptop. That's how the laptop was shipped from HP. No cushioning, thin cheap cardboard covering. You could hear the laptop rattling around in the box. The USPS Priority Mail boxes are thicker cardboard. I have purchased a HP laptop from QVC before. It was a TSV but shipped from QVC. The cardboard box from HP was thick and had cushioning and packing materials inside that kept it secure and prevented it from moving around. It was also packed in a sturdy cardboard box from QVC and foam peanuts were added to protect the laptop. I have received tiny indesctructible items of $20 value from QVC that were shipped with 100X more packaging.

If you ordered this TSV laptop from QVC and are thinking of keeping it you should think again. That laptop was thrown around shippers from China to the USA and then to your home. Your precious hard drive was bounced around like you threw it into a plastic shopping bag from your grocer and handed it to your children and said, go out back and throw this around and see if you can break it.

Now this laptop will go back to QVC and HP and sold to someone as brand new, never knowing what damage was done to the laptop.

Re: For anyone thinking of buying an HP Computer from QVC

Mine came yesterday. It had the shock-resistant foam padding the same as the HP desktop that shipped directly from QVC.

I'm sorry if yours was packaged wrong. That's always a bummer.

Keep in mind, no matter where you buy an HP, it will be shipped from China. The TSV computers weren't shipped out individually from the plant in China. They received the orders from QVC. When the orders were filled, all the computers were put in a FedEx shipping container for loading on the plane, then shipped to the FedEx hub at Memphis. At that point, the container was unloaded and each computer was sent to the individuals. The only difference between that and getting it from QVC is having it shipped from QVC adds another leg of travel before it gets to you.

I haven't yet, am wanting to but have been too busy. I have a perfectly good Dell but I've always liked HP and it was such a good deal. There were several software titles I was going to have to buy anyway that came with the computer so I basically paid less than half for the computer. I have ordered several computers from QVC and other sources and they all came to my house in good shape. Of course, there's always going to be those few packages in any system that get damaged, but HP and Dell packages well. I hope to get the desktop we bought up and running today because our desktop is slowly dying component by component, it's also an HP with Win 8, so it will be similar to the laptop. My Dell laptop was very easy to set up, and Win 8 sounds even easier.

We almost got the Dell TSV that was on March 16 we ordered it EDD was April 14 then it went to April 21 then May 5 then it went to back order and QVC did not have any idea when it was going to ship or if they were going to get anymore in so we cancelled it.

and we saw the HP TSV and hubby thought it was a good deal I was going to go out and buy Adobe Photoshop 12 so we went to Best Buy and Office Depot to see what we they had and to ask the tech guy in computer repairs what he thought of HP AMD A8 1Tb he said he liked HP better graphic cards in there computers he asked what I would use the computer for I said my dogs scrapbooking he said for my needs the HP AMD A8 was fast I took him a print out of the HP laptop he said at that price with the software he said you better buy it because your not going to find a better deal.

Hubby even went to HP website and the cheapest we could get a laptop like the TSV was over $800 so we bought the HP TSV.

We have a HP all in one now going on 8 years but it is slowing down been a good computer I just wanted something I could move around.

I received mine yesterday. I was shocked at how it was packaged. The box was in such terrible shape! It looked liked someone kicked it one side of the box. It shipped from China through Japan... It had shock absorbent foam but the main part of the computer had no protection at all. That said it arrived without a scratch and was not damaged. Actually the empty space saved it from an apparent good stomping. So far everything is working great!

{#emotions_dlg.biggrin} I ordered quite a few electronics from QVC within the last couple of months and never had a problem. I ordered a I pad which took me some time to open it was shipped so well to protect it. A vacuum which was packaged in two strong boxes. O/T I know just giving you a example. Sorry, this happened to you. Good luck with your next purchase.

Why can't I connect to internet. All other electronics in my home do. I have owned many computers over time and internet connects immediately. I hope this is not a bad sign.

If you have a wireless router and a secured network, you need to enter the security passphrase or security key number to connect.

Re: For anyone thinking of buying an HP Computer from QVC

I had my first HP XP built for me and it came packaged perfectly.

My friend ordered a Dell from here and she had no problem with it.

When I bought my second HP windows I almost ordered one from here a few years ago and found that Office Depot had a much better deal for what I needed. You do pay for all that extra stuff you might never use. I know I saved at least 300.00 and have all the speed I need.
