If you did, which one did you like better?
I have Comcast now but wonder if FIOS internet is faster.

I've had both. (full disclosure is I'm a former Vz employee) Go with what is the least expensive based on the speed you want. I've found them both the same. I switched to Comcast because of the terrible service (pixeling) that I was getting from Fios and they kept telling me it was inside (it can't be)
Comcast was much cheaper at first then they petitioned our town to increase the rates and jumped the cost of the contract by $20. When my 2yrs is up, it's gone and I'll maybe go back to fios or go to directtv.

@ Montana ...... I have no choice.... only Comcast is available in my town. It is AWFUL! My home service isn't too bad.. but still has issues. I have nothing but trouble with my Comcast business account. I was finally given the phone number for Comcast's Security Assurance Team. They seem to be the only ones who know how to correct a problem. So now I totally bypass Comcast's main number and go directly to the Security Assurance Team. My brother has FIOS.... IMHO it is great ,,,, much better than Comcast!!! He has had it for years and hasn't experienced any problems. FIOS is definitely faster!!

I had both.....
FIOS internet is a tad faster. Not much though.

I live in a 55+ community which is wired for both Comcast & FIOS. Rates rarely change as we all get "senior" discounts. Rate changes depends on the package you have. The cange is always a slight tax increase.
Comcast & Verizon gave us 3 yr contracts.

We have had both. We started out with Comcast. It was OK. Was surprised we lost cable more often then I thought we would. We live right outside Philadelphia so it is not like we are in a rural area with few homes.
Than our neighborhood was one of the first to get Fios. So we signed up for Fios. Must say was very impressed with the service. Everytime we called they would take the time to make sure things were right. About 2 months ago we had trouble with one computer not being able to go on the internet. They spent over an hour trying to resolve the problem. They sent out a new router. Not the solution - it is a computer problem.
We are staying with Fios. Frankly I do not want anymore holes put in the walls for the new boxes if we were to change. We had numerous holes from the original cable. And Fios put a box in the house and outside the house.
You can call and say you are thinking about going to Fios and see if Comcast gives you a better price than you are paying now.

I had Dish for awhile, and hated the outages during foul weather. I then contacted Comcast. They wanted an arm and a leg for installation cost, back at a time when other companies were touting free installation. I stayed with Dish until they started digging for the fiber optic cabling for FIOS. I believe I was one of the first FIOS customers in my neighborhood. I've been extremely pleased with it from the very beginning. Sometimes their customer service is a tad difficult to get through to, but they've always been helpful in resolving any issues I had. (And most of my issues have been stupid things that I've done!!!!). Go FIOS!!!

If I could get FIOS, I would. It's not yet available where I live. My understanding is that with Comcast, internet access is delivered via a cable. So when everyone comes home from work, delivery by that cable slows. FIOS is delivered via your phone line (you do need to have a landline) so speed should not fluctuate the way cable delivery would.

We just moved a month ago. We had FIOS in our old place. We now have XFINITY.
There is no comparison to me. XFINITY is BY FAR so much better than FIOS.
FIOS was ALWAYS cutting out. My son was not able to get some homework done because the dang internet kept going down. We had the wiring and the router and everything checked and no problem couold be found. It's just bad internet.
We now have XFINITY and while it does still cut out once in a while, it is just by far better service than we ever got with FIOS.
It also depends on what hardware you are using the wifi with. If you are using a cellphone you may not notice it as much when the internet cuts out because you may have data as well, that way there is no lag. However, if you are on a laptop that does not have a data connection it is DEFINITELY noticeable and causes problems.
My son is starting college next month and I'm so glad we have more reliable internet service for him.
Personally I am pro XFINITY and con FIOS.
