Emailing photos from iPad question

I took some pictures from my iPad 3 and want to email a couple to someone. The only way I figure I can do it is on the photo page click the email button and send that one photo. The photo then is huge covering the entire email page of the email and very hard to view.

How can I send photos so they are not so big?

Can I get more than one in a email? How?

I can't even figure how to send them to my desk top and send them on from there {#emotions_dlg.blush}

I appreaciate any help. I know I sound like a dinosaur...
