Does anyone stream Netflix through their DVD players?

I bought my dad a Netflix trial for Christmas and I helped him set it up this weekend. He has a Blu-ray DVD player that has built in Wi-fi and it was very easy to set up. I also set it up on the Wii and the interface there is so much better than the DVD player.

My question is for those of you who stream Netflix through your DVD player...does your DVD player come with a search feature? With the Wii I could search for movies easily by typing in their title, but the DVD player doesn't have a search feature (it shows movies that you've put in your instant queue) plus the usual choices under genre. I was wondering if all DVD players were like this since it's my first experience with such a thing. Thanks for any info!
