Looking at these two brands for a new Laptop. Which is the better laptop and customer service?

I work on a Dell and it's fine although aging now.  Just not to the extent I've needed service.  My last Dell service was with my previous machine -  it couldn't have been better.

Anything but  Dell. I have had many Dell computers and they were great until Dell sold out to India. Horrible customer service and they are made to last no more the four years. I have friends that have had Dells and have to replace them in less time then that. I have had HP and Toshiba and they make  good computers too, good  customer service on both these brands. I would have to say HP is much better overall then Dell.  Happy shopping.[ just a heads up do not  buy a computer from a shopping channel better off going to the source or a store that sells electronics. On shopping channels purchases they have a tendency  to sell older models with software you will never need or want]

I haven't had a Dell but did have an HP laptop I was happy with. I'm in the market for a new laptop and HP is high on the list for consideration.

I think they are comparable so I'd go for price and operating system.  My last 3 computers have been Dell and I've had no problems except for when I downloaded Windows 10.

My husband has Acer laptop and  loves it.

@jjb, my advice is stay away from Dell.  I will never own another Dell product again.  Absolutely the worst computer experience of my life.  Horrible customer service and bad product along with it.

I like HP and Toshiba.  Good experiences with both.  LM

We have 3 Dell computers.  My husband has worked in the IT industry for over 30 years (he's retired now) and likes them much better than HP.
