@Katcat1, absolutely easy to use. The step by step instructions (3 of them) are shown on the bag that holds the Halo Bolt....I was amazed and it all took about 1 minute - seriously!

Love my Halo! Bought it 2 years ago and had to use it a week after I got it to charge my car. If you know how to open your car hood and know what a battery looks like, it couldn't be easier.

Well, I do have one but I hope I never have to find out it works (Ha!)
Glad it worked out for you!

@grandma2pkmh, yes....and if a person doesn't know how to open the hood of her car or where the battery is, then go to your car dealer and ask them to show you....or ask a family member to show you. There's nothing to be embarrassed about, and every woman needs to know how to do it. And no one will think it's crazy for you to ask....they'd be happy to show you.

@jannabelle1 Thank you for relaying your story! I got one when it was a TSV and have not had a need to get it out yet, but we have storms here and sometimes lose power, and When we travel we will bring it along RV ing. I’m so glad to have it. 😉

Love mine. I used it to start my lawn tractor a couple times. I was fearful at first, but it couldn't be easier. Bought one for my mother because she always has issues in the winter due to not taking the car out enough. Sure enough it happened a couple weeks ago. Nephew refused to use it, said he'd bring jumper cables. Well he forgot the cables and I walked him through it over the phone. He we amazed it did the job and how quick it was. I told him he needed to listen to his aunt.

The highlighted bit of this post made me laugh. In my case, I'm the one with the mechanical sense and I take care of the maintenance in the house and with the cars. One day, after being out with DH (his car), I commented that he was nearly out of windshield washer fluid.
I told him I'd refill it, when we got home. But when we got there he started making excuses that it could "be done later". I told him not to be silly and to just open the darn hood of his car!
He finally said "How do I do that?" Sheeesh! He's only had the car for four years! And he had to have one with all the bells and whistles (more than my older one). But he has never looked at the manual and didn't even know how to unlatch the hood. I told him he'd better start learning, as I couldn't always be there and he can't take it to the dealership every time he needs the fluid topping up!
(I'm also the one who jumpstarts anything, if needed. He has about zero mechanical sense.)

The Halo really does work. Last year had to use ours for the first time. Think of it as additional insurance.
