Re: DIGITAL COUPONS FOR GROCERY SHOPPING!

@gardenman That's almost identical to the way my Safeway app works!

@threecees

Sounds good!

I have been eating "Factor" meals and so I only run in these days to the grocery store for one or two items...however, I will more carefully watch my points...maybe I will get a free turkey too!

Re: DIGITAL COUPONS FOR GROCERY SHOPPING!

I use the Kroger Digital Coupons that I download every week (using my laptop).

I don't have shopping apps on my phone, and it's not necessary with Kroger - The coupons are simply "loaded" to my Loyalty Card, and the savings are deducted at the register.

I find them to be quite valuable, and I'm constantly getting FREE stuff as well. Smiley Wink

@Love my grandkids  I get frustrated with digital coupons also.  But one day I saw a woman go up to coupon machine in store.  Put her phone # in and then hit all items that had digital coupon.  I am going to try that.  Much easier

I'm not a fan. I feel as if I have to go around with my phone in my hand to see which coupons are valid, and which expire on different dates. Even with a written list I find myself going to the app to verify which specific items are included.

Especially dislike them at BJ's. Just do the instant savings like Sam's Club and Costco.

@Etoile308 I'm with you.  I remember I used to clip all sorts of coupons, but I'd forget to take them to the store with me.  Then, there was this Ibotta app I tried.  You had to scan in your grocery receipt and invariably, it would get denied even when I had bought the exact item in the size mentioned on the app.  Not worth it.

I have the Publix app, but never remember to check the list before I shop.  Even if I do, there's usually only 1, maybe 2 items on it i'm interested in.

I do take advantage of the Belk app though.  I no longer get their coupons in the mail, so I never know what's on sale the few times I go.  I was in store Sunday and bought several things.  I kept seeing 40% off with coupon.  So, I brought up the app and found the coupon.  Got 3 pair of pants with that coupon.

I'll occasionally see something I want in Publix I want and need the app for.  That's when I think of the app.  And lucky for me, Publix allows you to clip the coupon as a Guest because I can never remember my password.

@Fribwl I'm no longer frustrated. I know how to use them! I just clip them on the App and when I check out they are automatically applied.

Re: DIGITAL COUPONS FOR GROCERY SHOPPING!

I do the same thing and still find them a pain in the backside. Perhaps it's the store I shop.

Coupons for a product are only good on select varieties of that product. For example, a coupon on Green Mountain K-cups is only good on specific cups. So if you want the Dark Magic you have to see if it's included. That results in the coupon already being in the app, but needing to pull up the coupon to see which products. And unless a list is made, I have difficulty remembering the couponed products. It's not like physically having in hand to refer to.

Also the store near me with coupons have different expiration dates. Some weekly, some longer. So if staying on budget needing to check the expiration on the app to see if to buy this week or next.

My point is, these aren't manufacturers coupons, so if offereing a discount just give it without the fanfare.

Consequently, I shop the two other chains around me. As long as your a frequent shopper member, scan your card or enter phone number and you get the sale price without needing their app or coupons.

Sale products are listed in the flyer, and noted in the store. Simple.

I use my digital coupons all the time. At Fry's, Safeway, Albertson's and Target.

I usually download them from their weekly ads and then enter my phone number or VIP card.

A coupon machine?   Is it from your grocery retailer?  I've never seen one and I shop around in various stores.

Re: DIGITAL COUPONS FOR GROCERY SHOPPING!

I went shopping at Acme yesterday and the total order was $78.84. I paid $52.41 and saved $26.43 through the sale prices and For U coupons. It might have taken me five minutes to go through the app and check what I needed. It's worth the effort to save the money.
