@SilleeMeewrote:

I had a smaller one in my living room but it didn't work out so well because of some reflection from windows in the room. I had to move that curved TV into another room and then I bought a larger flat screen to replace it which appears much better without all the reflections going on with that other curved one I had.

@SilleeMee, I am seriously looking at the Sony TVs...noncurved but so what?!?

@hckynut, I have the Samsung 65” curved LED 2160p Smart 4K Ultra HD w/High Dynamic Range being delivered tomorrow!  How vital is the additional sound bar that was recommended?  I will consider it down the road if it is a necessity.  Is the sound acceptable as is?  Thank you for your input!

@BornToShop

Remember now I am an Audio Purist, and have been since the early 1950's. That said, the thin TV sets really do not have much room to be able to produce very good audio. Older sets had the huge bezels in which they could add bigger speakers a more a higher wattage audio.

While my Samsung audio is "ok" for watching news and those types of shows, it is sorely lacking, for me, when it comes to TV shows with Dolby 5.1 surround sound, especially the 1 hour shows, and the few movies I watch.

I have a always had a separate surround sound system hooked up to all our TV sets, and our 110" front projector. Really never used a Sound Bar so can't really say anything about them, but!! I would think they would certainly produce better sound than the TV set. Curved Sound Bar, don't see any benefit to that over a straight one.

Getting car maintenance done right now will check your TV model number when I get back home. Who knows? Might be one I will look at, but I love my 2D to 3D feature on my present Samsung, and unless there is a model I am not aware of, Samsung no longer offers 3D on their sets.

Wishing you a lot of enjoyment with your new Samsung and hope there is no mysterious turning on and off.

Imo none of the TVs made today have good sound to them. Any kind of soundbar will be better than listening to just the TV itself. I've always had my TV hooked up to a home theater system. Of course, I have the option to not use it but it makes a huge difference for me, especially since now I can listen to I-Heart Radio streaming on my smartie pants TV.Woman Very Happy

@hckynut & @SilleeMee, you sold me on getting the sound bar!  No question this is an awesome TV.  It is going to be delivered between 8am & noon tomorrow.  Bet I will have the sound bar purchased before the sun goes down tomorrow, lol.
