WASHINGTON (AP) - Canon is recalling one of its cameras because a chemical in the rubber grips can cause skin irritation.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said the recall affects about 68,200 EOS Rebel T4i Digital SLR Cameras.

The agency says owners should stop using the cameras.

The recalled cameras each have each have a 12-digit serial number printed on the bottom. The second digit will be a 3 or 4 and the sixth digit will be a 1, the agency said in a statement.

The chemical also can change the color of the rubber grips from black to white.

Canon U.S.A. has one report of a customer who got a minor rash after coming in contact with a surface where the camera had been sitting, the statement said. The cameras, manufactured in Japan, were sold in June and July for $850 to $1,200.
