I got a new Kindle (8.1 5th generation) before Christmas and Amazon loaded "Alexa" on it.

If I purchase a Dot, can I set an alarm on Alexa and it tell me on the Dot?

On the Kindle, you have to leave your sound on or go 3 screens to turn it on and off.  I don't like leaving it on all the time.

Any other tips would be appreciated.  TIA

Re: Can we have an "Alexa" Q&A?

I'm pretty sure you have to set the alarm on the actual device that you want it to go off on.  If you want Dot to sound off, you need to tell Dot to set the alarm.  If you want your Kindle Fire Alexa alarm to go off, you need to set it on that device.

BTW, you need to set the alarm volume from the app.  You can have your device volume on low and the alarm on high if desired.

I don't like my volume on my Kindle Fire most of the time either.  So I have to remember to turn it on before I use the Alexa feature.

I have an Echo. I just ask Alexa to set an alarm. "She" will ask me AM, or PM. "She" will then tell me the time I have set. My thing is, is the Dot alarm going to be loud enough.

I'm sure it will.  Just be sure and turn the volume up full blast in the App.

@nutmeg  If Dot is like Echo,  the sound can be adjusted to any level.

Re: Can we have an "Alexa" Q&A?

I just connected my Echo dots last night.  Had a bit of a problem as my tablet and my cell phone were not compatible for downloading.  Finally, just downloaded through my laptop.

My question is that I want to connect one of my dots to my Bose radio.  Do I just need an auxiliary cable to do that?  My Bose radio is about 10 or 12 years old so I hope that it's a problem!!

Yes, but the speaker(s) are not as large.

Does anyone know the shopping list app that was used on air, when the tech guy was selling the dot?

If you use a the shopping list feature with Alexis, which one do you use and like?

I doubt your Bose radio has Bluetooth.  If there is an audio input on the Bose and an audio output on the Dots, you might be able to make it work.  My guess would be no.
