Can't get my LG trac phone to turn on or charge?

I purchase the LG tracphone around 2014 (Nov) when TSV. I went to turn the phone on yesterday, holding the power on button and nothing. Assuming the battery needed charged, I put it on for a charge and nothing. I removed the back cover, took the battery out and re-inserted it and again, nothing. I purchased the warranty that would cover all but I am hoping there is a quicker solution to this. Anyone else with similar problem or suggestions? I purchased the TSV LG a couple of weeks ago planning to transfer/activate all in Nov when my minutes would typically need renewed but do not know how this could interfere with transfering any data from the former phone to the new phone. There is no SIM card for this phone.

Thank you all for help.

Hmmmm--it seems that after 2 days of repeating these same steps, the phone was able to be turned on and begin to charge?

I am glad you got it started again.

If both phones are through Tracfone, contact Tracfone and see about transfering the minutes you have left on the old phone over to the new phone right now – they should be willing to do that for you. Then, you can start using your new phone now and not have to worry you will have that problem again with the old phone.

Re: Can't get my LG trac phone to turn on or charge?

Got my tracfone earlier this summer.  A couple weeks ago it wouldn't turn on.  I took the battery out and dusted off the battery where the connection is.  It turned right on.  This is my fifth phone and the only time I've had this issue.

Since you already have a new phone I don't understand why you are continuing to fuss with the old one. Just get the new one started and move over your number and your existing time and min. Then the service you bought with the new phone will add on top of those.

@151949 I'm pretty sure both phones have to be turned on when you transfer from one to the other.

I was pushed into the pool by my nephew with the phone in my pocket - it was toast - I bought a new phone and transferred all my data over from that dead phone.I just called tracfone and the rep did it.

My DH just said that when I bought the new phone we called tracfone and they told us to just place the SIM card from the broken phone into the new phone and my data would transfer and it did.

Re: Can't get my LG trac phone to turn on or charge?

That's not always either. We purcharsed two LG Premiers on the recent TSV.  My phone transferred quickly and works properly.  My husands would not activate which caused a problem with his old phone because it messes up the old one when Tracfone is trying to active a new one with your old number and the new phone won't activate.  IT'S A MESS.  Needless to say we're returning it and trying another and he'll use a new number.  The old one will need a new Sim card from Tracfone to stay active and we'll use it for backup.
