Can't Delete Emergency Alert

I got an emergency alert on my android phone for Saturday's tornado. Usually Amber/Emergency alerts disappear on their own after you read them. This one didn't.

 

Any ideas?

I went to my messages and then click on the bars on upper right hand side...and menu came down i was able to click delete.

OK! I Googled the problem and tried just restarting the phone. That pulled up the tornado alert (including the alert sound) again. I clicked on the OK and this time it went away.
