A hard reboot will NOT corrupt files or file system.

Thank you. I just tried a hard reboot and still nothing. It didn't fix it. This is just so crazy.

Frustrating to say the least.

The only other thing that I could think of is that there could be something about your account here where something attached to it is giving you problems. I'm not sure how to deal with that sort of thing but it would explain a lot if that were the case.
