I need someone pretty computer savory to look over the laptops offered here on Qvc and tell me a decent laptop to buy! I am not interested in Apple. I do not want a 17 inch one either. Something decent where I can check my FB and emails... and browse the Internet! I have found more expense is not always the right one either! Been there and done that and they don't last any longer than one half their price! I want all the up to date specks which I have heard QVC is know to try and sell their old stuff as just out for June of 2017,  Not nice QVC! I do not understand the guts or inners of a computer and that is why I am asking! QVC spends to much time on the color or the computer and the useless junk you get with it then explaining what you are really getting! They have hired excellent salespeople that all they how is to run their mouth and probably know no more than myself! Thank you for any advice!

From the things you said you would use it for, it sounds like a tablet might work for you, and it costs a lot less. QVC sells a lot of tablets, too.

I bought two laptops from QVC and I would not do it again. I sent the second one back. It was dropshipped from China. They set it up for you so when you turn it on, you can't personalize it much. They also add all kinds of useless software and claim it's worth so much money. But if you don't want that softwared, including it is worth nothing. Last laptop I bought was from Best Buy and it was very basic and I love it. Just not a fan of Q's laptops because of all the junk included and don't appreciate dropshipping from China either.

See if your local library or other local organization offers computer classes.  Take the class, talk to the instructor, and make a more informed decision.

If you are in any organizations, talk to the people who do the computer tasks there.  If a friend is computer savvy talk to them.  IF you have a "support" person, it would be nice to buy something they are familiar with so they can help you out.

I am not that savvy when it comes to the guts of a computer but several months ago, I purchased a Dell laptop for $400 and I am completely satisfied from Best Buy.  I purchased my printer from QVC as they offered the best deal with CD and two ink cartridges so it was very easy to set up.  You can't go wrong with Dell or HP.

That is simply not true.  If you'd bother to check it out, almost every computer is made in China and that includes Apple devices.  There is no way the companies are setting up computers for potentials customers.  It could have been a return that was sold as new.  If you weren't able to personalize it, you don't know how.

Why do you want to buy from QVC?  EZ pay?  You can get better deals buying from electronic stores or directly from the manufacturer.

I think you would get a better deal going to a best buy store there you can talk to a tech or someone that can take you though the computer. I would never buy any computer from a shopping channel they sell older products with software you will never need or use. Happy shopping O/P!

Re: Buying a latop on Qvc

For the most part the shopping channels bump up the retail price by adding 'tech support'- you can do much better at a b&m. I've done  best buying from staples.com (the stores don't have a big variety). A decent RAM (8 min) and 1T hard drive are my keys to look for- also no Dells. We have them at work and they crash all the time.
