I purchased the Bose today for $399 --  "special price due to QVC's relationship with Bose". I went to the Bose website and the exact model is for that same very special price with free shipping.  Bothersome when the truth is stretched to make it sound like we're getting this spectacular special price.

You can look at it from another point of view:  Bose is selling this model for $399.  Due to their relationship with QVC, they allowed QVC to sell it at the same price.  Not defending, not accusing...just sayin'.

Yeah, there are a lot of times when I've heard something like 'you'll not find it anywhere else for less'.   Of course, like others have said, they all do this.

Good to do your homework.

Bose also has always offered up to 12 payments, at no extra charge.

The only thing that gives me GREAT pause is when they say that something was 'made especially for QVC'.   That's when I think that quality takes a bit of a hit in lieu of cranking out tens of thousands of something for a sale.

You should have done that BEFORE you made your QVC purchase.

I NEVER take the word of any website that they have a special/best price. I google it - every time - before I purchase.

I looked at this until I read some reviews on the Bose site and realized that there are no control buttons on the unit itself; it's completely controlled by the remote.

So what happens, if you misplace the remote???  (As if that would ever happen!)

regarding Boses' special price on 5-28, my son gifted a Bose System III w/ CD, dual alarm and touch top control, free s/h.

Aprice was $379.97.  I'm not sure if it's the same model...I love it!  Such quality sound.  Also love and enjoy the Bose system in my car, can't beat the sound for the money.

You can buy a new one from Bose. I have one of the first models from 2004 and it works fine. I did have to replace the battery in the remote.

I know you can buy another one, but what happens in the meantime?  You can't use your Bose sound system, right?  That's what would worry me about having no control buttons on the actual unit.
