I’ve never actually claimed and received anything like this. I purchased an LG V30 phone in October with Verizon. Every other carrier offered a monetary discount/price break except Verizon, which I have to use as they are the only carrier that gets any decent service in my rural, relatively sparsely populated area. Verizon’s offer was a hot-off-the-line $200 virtual reality headset and free apps to use it, and a $200 VISA card.
I have now actually received both items, and am pleased. I need to set up the headset and download the software, and I’m looking forward to trying it out. The gft card is going to buy me a few fiiine meals.

@Moonchilde Hey, be careful with that virtual reality headset.......have you seen any of those funniest home videos? People falling off chairs, running into walls, etc. Must really be real!! ![]()

Wow, I wish I had gotten some bonuses when I bought my phone from Sprint. I don't know how 'high end' my phone is, but it's a Samsung Galaxy S7 for which I paid almost $600.
All I got was the phone and the cable for charging. Oh well. I like it. It was my first smartphone, after having dumbphones for about 23 years. Still figuring some stuff out after all this time. Messed up one thing a couple months ago and had to take it to Sprint to fix. First fix is free, so that was nice. ![]()

I'm looking forward to hearing your assessment.
So far (haven’t set things up yet) I’m a bit disgruntled. The sets provided for this promotion did not include a charger & cable in the box. Description reads as it should be included. Verizon said I had to call LG. LG said no they’re not included in the promo, but gave me Google’s CS # to “try.” Pretty sucky not to include the cord in the promo when it IS included if you purchase it :-( But that’s on Google and LG, not Verizon. Sigh.
Absolutely NO instructions as to how to use it in the box whatsoever. I’ll have to go to the Google Store and read there I guess. I’ve never tried one so I’m clueless. No doubt there are other desirable/pretty necessary accessories I’ll have to look at.

@2blonde, I have seen some funny stuff with that on AFV and on Big Bang Theory ;-)

@chickenbutt, companies that do these promos tend to do it on launch of the new phone(s). If you bought your phone as an older model (the 8s are out now) they might do a buy one, get one free thing. Sprint tends to offer the new phones at a lower price, Verizon & ATT tend to give freebies but charge you full price for the phone.
LOL I have been using only i-devices for the past four years, so I definitely had some growing pains with learning to use an Android phone. I panicked one day when I lost video sound and couldn’t get it back. Drove to the Verizon store and put my name in to be helped - only to finally figure it out myself 5 min later. But they helped me with other questions I had, thankfully.

When I bought my iPhone from AT&T the instructions that came with it were a bare minimum. It was my first Smartphone, and I was pretty clueless. The salesperson helped me a lot while I was there. He said to call him if I had anymore questions, but I was able to find just about everything online that I couldn't figure out on my own.
I'm sorry your phone didn't come with a charger and cable, though. They're necessities!

Good point! Yeah, I purchased my S7 just before the S8 came out. They did advertise the S8 at that point but the price was considerably more so I figured I was fine with the S7. ![]()
Maybe if I had waited until the S8 was out the 7 w/b cheaper, eh? Oh well, that's how things tend to go for me. ![]()
I really like it when I figure out problems myself! That way I learn something for next time, assuming I will remember. ![]()

The one thing I wish I could figure out on the Android phone is how to configure it so it ONLY makes a noise if I get a call or a text and no other sounds from anything. I have gone through each app one by one and set them all but 2-3 to no notification or sound of any kind, but something is still chiming all the time. It’s not mail, not a text. Even though I’ve tried to be sure everything is “off” as far as Facebook, I think that it’s the FB app that’s still doing it - I think FB somehow overrides your choice. Sooo annoying!
