Big changes will make your current iPad more functional. Coming soon, iPad OS.

[ Edited ]

In just a few months iPads will be given their own operating system. This update will no longer be called iOS. It is being renamed IPadOS.

The capabilities of your device will expand giving you the ability to multitask and use your iPad more like a computer. There are currently videos showing these upgrades on YouTube.

That would be great if I could only update my iPad.

Seems you can only update for 4 or 5 yrs if that long. I paid a lot of money for my iPad & not happy I can no longer update it.

I won't be buying anymore Apple products. DH hates them anyways so it's a plus for him.

It won’t be updating my iPad unless I buy I new one.  Or my iPhone, either.

Apple seems to expect users to have to buy a new device every three or four years. They thrive on planned obsolescence. I purchased my new iPad Pro last October. I love my iPad too much to do without it. I watch television (DIRECTV, Netflix, YouTube) on it, create artwork, search for research articles in science and medicine, read books, use productivity apps such as MS Word, Google Docs, Apple Pages, search for images of decorating ideas, use the camera, store photos,  listen to podcasts, look at homes for sale, find recipes, download purchased books, text message friends, post here, email others and receive emails, do my taxes, save files, scan documents, print documents, use the flashlight, the calendar, the calculator, the google maps app for finding directions, watch QVC, shop and place orders, order food delivery, watch tutorials to fix broken things around the house, watch beauty how tos, read the news. IT’S THE BEST INVENTION SINCE SLICED BREAD for me. There are a range of prices for new iPads. Unfortunately, in the modern tech market companies make money by deliberately cutting into product longevity.

My old IPad3 works just as good as my new one. It hasn’t been able to update in a long time but I barely notice any difference except for two finger bigger picture making. Edited to add, I have no need for my IPad to do computer things. It does everything that I need it for.

Have a desktop if need be, but haven’t used it in years! Lol

I have the largest iPad Pro that I love. I actually don’t need a laptop or a desktop anymore. This does everything. I think it is about four years old now.

I love Apple because everything talks to each other.

I have an iPad 3 and never use it.  I'm glad we have choices because I like using a desktop.
