I am trying to get rid of the EXEchecker on my computer. I downloaded the free trial of Avast, hoping that would do it, but "no". I don't have the actual ad showing, but the text on the computer jumps down & leaves space and the words "ads by EXEchecker" all over the place.
I know there are ways you can get rid of it, but looks like a long & rather complicated procedure, so I'm trying other things first. I am a sort of computer dummy, so I'm sure it looks more complicated to me than it would for the guru's.
I have Malwarebyes & like it, but it doesn't get rid of the EXE. Does anyone know of an antivirus protection that might do the job? I appreciate any suggestions.

You should follow steps one and two of the directions. Do not go into the registry. Then run Hit Man Pro. I use a Anti-Malware program called Hit Man Pro. It comes with a thirty day free trial.
