Are gadgets ok to add to Windows 10?

I just bought a new computer with Windows 10. I would like to add a calculator to the desktop, but I remember they was a problem with them and they were not available in Windows 8.  I searched Windows 10 and I would have to download an app with 8 gadgets to get the calculator. I am afraid this might cause problems with my new computer so I am asking for help here. Thanks

The whole point of a computer is to use it.  Go to the app store for Windows and find one you like.

There is a calculator on Win10, FWIW.

If you don't like that one, however, I see no reason why you could not add one that you like better.  I don't use that, so I have no idea how good or bad it is, plus YMMV anyway.

I play solitaire, to help me with my failing ability to focus and concentrate - well, plus I like it, and I absolutely hated the one on Win10.  So, as I did with my Win8.1 computers, I was able to add the old Win7 and prior Solitaire game to my Win10 computer.  It took a hot second using a video I found online.

I find that if you Google whatever it is you want to do you will most likely find either a written instruction or a YouTube video of how to do it.  HTH Smiley Happy

Yes, I have added gadgets to my Windows 10 PC.

Download these: http://8gadgetpack.net/

Sometimes they don't come up automatically when I restart windows,  but just right click on the desktop and chose the gadget option in the drop down menu.
