Re: Apple tv anyone have this?

Yes and I like it.  Don't buy the one offered on QVC.  It's over priced and will be soon replaced by a newer version around September.

Re: Apple tv anyone have this?

We have them for every TV in our house, which may seem like overkill but it really increases the functionality of a "regular" TV. We use it to run Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video (by streaming from our iphone/ipad) etc. Everyday there seem to be new channels added to it. Since the box updates itself there is little or no maintenance on our part.

I am very interested to see what Apples announcement is re: Apple TV. Right now they are a strong competitor in the ROKU, ChromeTV and smart TV arena but if they have something more up their sleeve I can't wait to see it.

Re: Apple tv anyone have this?

I have it and love it. It's basically the same as a Ruko type of device, but the reason I like the Apple TV over any other type of device like this is because I am all Apple at my house. So everything I have syncs together. I don't have to do anything special to view pictures on the Apple TV, they are already there. Same with my music, already there. And I listen to a lot of music through the Apple TV, because I have my surround sound speaker hooked up to the TV, and playing my iTunes music through that when I am home is amazing.

As others pointed out earlier, Apple is getting ready to announce a new version of the Apple TV. There has been articles for a few years now that they have been working on deals with various broadcasting companies...and whatever is announced my be the thing that finally helps everyone break free from the cable/satellite cord. I think also that Siri will be built into the new one, as many articles are also suspecting. This means that you could be sitting on the couch and say...hey Siri, play XYZ...and she will bring it up on the screen and it would start playing. I also think that the safari browser will be built in, along with the App Store being added enabling you to download various apps...gaming apps come to mind when I think of this functionality.

Apple has basically discontinued the latest Apple TV, knowing that the new version is on the way out. They still support it, but they dropped the price to $69...and Apple never drops the price that dramatically on anything. It was selling for $99. I did notice the one the Q is selling is even more than the old Apple price, Q selling for $109. That's crazy!!! You can go to Apple or any other store...even best buy..and get the same exact thing for $69.

So you could either get one now (from anywhere but Q) for a really, really great price. But know that it will not have the new features that are expected in just a few short months of the model they will be announcing. Or..you could wait for the new one to be announced. However, I think the new model will be more than $100, just because of all the new functionality that will be built into it.
